Location: Eden Revue Club and Resort

How much of SL is about sex? And why bother in a world where no one can touch each other? I’d hoped that my friend from the Starlight Supper Club might explain things.

HoJo Kilda owns the Eden Revue, a nightclub and brothel that aims to be different: the theme ranges from 1920s speakeasy to 2020s Cyberpunk, with parties, dances, even lectures on sexuality. Sex between avatars occurs in private rooms, floating in the air far about the club so conversations, and shenanigans, are not seen or heard. feng Willis, HoJo’s business partner and and head builder on the Eden Revue Resort project, made these private spaces range in theme from Victorian B&B to science-fiction fantasies.

The staff (and this writer) treat HoJo with the respect one might give to a powerful and well spoken businesswoman who can pull a whip and use it. On her dance floor, no nudity is permitted. For performers, however. . . use your imaginations. During my visit the dancing on-stage was sensual, not sleazy. Someone employed much creativity and programming time making their avatars do these moves. The club has some of the best-realized and most detailed interiors I’ve seen in SL. Eden Revue can be packed; when Hojo gives lectures, up to 50 visitors attend. She entered SL after reading about it on an adult blog and she decided to go into business. For HoJo, SL “allows us to experiment with things we might not do in [real life]. . . .Or in my case, just go a bit further.“

How far can the business go, financially? We did not discuss her income in the HoJo Kilda Interview at my site, but HoJo worries that Linden Labs may not be ready for the sort of population explosion SL is now experiencing. And she says a great deal about the “business of sex” in SL.

The sexual side of SL does seem very big.. I believe it should be okay as long as it’s kept sane, and consensual..

Personally - If it comes into my roleplay - very well, but I wouldn’t go looking for it.
